Join Silent Steps on the unique 6-day, 5-night, 97km slack-pack Hantam Hike, starting on the outskirts of Calvinia and ending on top of the Hantam Mountain- overlooking Calvinia and the expanse of the Tankwa Karoo!

The Hantam Hike was initiated in 2017 when Silent Steps became aware of the severe drought in the area. The aim of the hike was to fundraise for the donation of fodder for the animals. All meals and accommodation (where available) was, and still is, provided by farmers in the area whose ground we traverse. You will meet the farmers and their families who benefited financially from this hike.

Silent Steps is proud to say that over a two year period we managed to donate in excess of 20 tonnes of maize to farmers in the area, at a time when the drought was taking its toll.
